Patreon, Github, and Podcast Stuff

The holidays are finally (long) over, and I feel like I’ve finally recovered from them, so its time to put some exciting updates on this here website!

First thing first – I have a Patreon now! I mainly put it up to help with hosting fees for the both the podcast and the website, but if I get to certain point, it can also start helping out with other historical projects I’m undertaking, including doing builds from Heiserman’s 1978 DIY video game book and documenting early 70’s arcade boards. I don’t have much in the way of exclusives for the time being, but if you do give a little bit, I’ll give you a shout out on the podcast!

Speaking of the podcast, I’ve got a couple interviews lined up with some fascinating people. Just gotta work out scheduling, which can be a bit difficult, but I plan on having the first one out before the end of February. I’ve got some ideas for more roundtable-ish episodes, but I need to bounce them off some folks first to work out logistics. Keep watching this space!

And finally, I set up a Github! If you don’t know what that is, it’s a website that allows folks to upload info and resources related to technical projects: code, schematics, etc. So far, I’ve uploaded the most recent revision of the David L Heiserman video board and a replacement power supply for the ColecoVision. I have another one coming up soon about converting an NES controller to work with the Atari 9-pin standard and have it also make use of the Start and Select buttons to toggle button mapping.

Thanks so much for continuing to listen to the podcast and supporting all the other crazy stuff I get myself into!
